Lucy Lu, MS, MBA is the Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at Crescendo Bioscience Inc., a venture–backed molecular Dx start-up based in California.
The company launched its first product, Vectra DA, for tracking disease activity in Rheumatoid Arthritis patients in 2010.
Lucy joined Crescendo in spring 2008 and her responsibilities encompass managing portfolio planning, strategic partnering, licensing negotiation, intellectual property, and international expansion to support the company’s growth strategy.
She played a key role in many of Crescendo’s business transactions, including a partnering deal with 5 major pharmaceutical companies to jointly conduct a clinical study to develop a biological therapy prediction test for anti-TNFα and a creative $56M Series C financing in 2011.
She is a member of Life Science Angels, where she had led analysis and investment in diagnostics and life sciences companies. She is an active member of Rock Health and WBL – both groups have special aims at mentoring woman entrepreneurs and woman-led companies.
Prior to joining Crescendo, she was Vice President, Technology Management and Head of the U.S. Chief Technology Office for Roche Diagnostics, where she built a global team focusing on life sciences, diabetes care and molecular Dx technology scouting and assessment to support corporate strategic planning and M&A.
Lucy has also held various marketing, product development and R&D management positions at Applied Biosystems (now Life Technologies), Genentech and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
